Gary Schwartz Speaks on Future Facing Financial Practices at Conference in Greece

North Star’s Executive Vice President addressed 450 financial professionals at the 2018 GAMA Hellas Conference.

MINNEAPOLIS — Gary Schwartz, CLU®, ChFC®, CRPC, Executive Vice President of North Star Resource Group, was invited to speak at the annual GAMA Hellas Conference in Athens, Greece on Feb. 9 and 10, 2018. The conference hosted 450 attendees hailing from Greece, Crete and Cyprus.

Schwartz’s presentation, titled “Building a Future Facing Financial Practice,” took place over a two-day period at the Athens Concert Hall, Megaron. He spoke on a variety of leadership and development topics, including building a practice on purpose, achieving the financial practice one desires and clients deserve, how to attract and retain clients, and leadership lessons for leading financial advisors.

Schwartz has over 40 years of experience within the financial services industry, starting his career with Minnesota Mutual in St. Paul, MN before rising to Vice President of Field Management and Development for the Securian Financial Network and later to Franchise Field Vice President for the Twin Cities area for what became Ameriprise Financial. As Executive Vice President at North Star Resource Group, Schwartz provides professional consulting services to 130 financial advisors on developing teams and composite practices, succession planning and overall executive leadership. As a result of his leadership, Schwartz co-authored Practice on Purpose with North Star CEO Ed Deutschlander and Executive Chairman and Founder Phil Richards in 2015. In 2016, a workbook was added to accompany the book, which serves to raise the sense of purpose and value a financial advisor can achieve within their practice. Recognized internationally as a leader within the financial services profession, Schwartz has spoken at multiple conferences in the United States, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, in addition to Greece.
