North Star’s commitment to ending Alzheimer’s shown through Walk4ALZ event in San Diego
SAN DIEGO — October 30, 2023 — North Star’s San Diego office, led by Grace Torres Kilpatrick, CEPA®, recently participated in the 2023 Walk4ALZ event, hosted by Alzheimer’s San Diego.
This annual event brings together members of the community to walk and raise funds to support Alzheimer’s research and to provide care and support to those affected by the condition.
Kilpatrick stated, “Raising awareness for the condition is something I’m passionate about and participating in Alzheimer’s walks is a great way for our advisors to get out in the community and be part of the solution in any way we can.”
In total, North Star’s San Diego team, Mimi’s Marchers, raised $8,500 to benefit Alzheimer’s San Diego. Kilpatrick walked in honor of her grandmother and the team earned the privilege of being named a 2023 Top Team Award winner at the event.
In 2004, North Star Resource Group founded the Scott Richards North Star Foundation, promising to donate 10 percent of annual profits to charity annually. With $6.3 million contributed since its founding, the foundation focuses efforts on causes directly affecting advisors, team members and clients of North Star.
Alzheimer’s disease is one of the foundation’s six foundational causes, and the foundation has contributed over $390,000 to the cause, as well as created two endowed chairs for Alzheimer’s Research at Temple University to integrate research, training, clinical and educational activities in the study of Alzheimer’s disease.
