Madison Branch Receives Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County Corporate Partner Award
MADISON, Wis. — Each year, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Dane County honors the top corporate partner that has made significant contributions in order to help the organization serve children facing adversity through mentorship. On July 25, 2019, the Madison branch of North Star Resource Group received the Corporate Partner Award at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County Annual Dream Big Gala.
For over 10 years, members of North Star Madison have participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in various ways. As many as two-thirds of the advisors and team members in Madison have been involved through mentorship and volunteering, including one member who has served on the BBBS of Dane County board as a member and officer for seven years.
The connection between North Star and BBBS of Dane County was established through two Bikes for Kids events held in Madison. At the events, local kids were surprised with brand new bicycles and helmets to take home.
From that, the partnership has grown as North Star Madison sponsored a backpack and school supplies giveaway event and their team volunteered for BBBS of Dane County’s Bowl for Kids event.
