North Star recognized in Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s Minnesota’s Largest Employers list for sizable Minnesota workforce
MINNEAPOLIS—October 16, 2025—North Star Resource Group was announced today on the Minnesota’s Largest Employers list from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (MSPBJ).
This list recognizes businesses, nonprofits and organizations with sizable workforces in the state of Minnesota, and is based on information provided via an annual survey as part of MSPBJ’s research methodology.
“Receiving this recognition from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal is a true honor,” stated North Star CEO Ed Deutschlander, CLU®, CLF®. “It recognizes the deep roots we have to the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota communities, which have existed since our origins in 1908.”
On this list, North Star ranked #145 in the 2025 rankings. This recognition comes after North Star’s placement on the MSPBJ Corporate Giving in Minnesota (#18) and the Minnesota-Based Corporate Philanthropists (#14) lists in 2024. Both lists recognize the charitable giving efforts of firms and companies across the state, with North Star doing so through the Scott Richards North Star Foundation (founded in 2004).
Additionally, the firm has received past recognition on MSPBJ’s Largest Wealth Management Firms in the Twin Cities list, which ranks wealth management firms in the Twin Cities metro area based on assets managed. Most recently, in 2024, North Star ranked #14 on the list, up from the #15 position in 2023.
North Star has 141 full- and part-time employees in Minnesota, with 137 of those associates working in the 24-county Twin Cities metro area.* Together, they serve over 150,000 individuals and small businesses as they pursue their financial goals.†
Deutschlander added, “Our mission is Changing Lives, Forever®, and whether we are assisting individuals and businesses in our home office or in our branch offices throughout the country, we appreciate our advisors and team members who help us realize this mission every day.”
