About Doug
In 2008, Doug was working in a research laboratory and pursuing a graduate degree in chemistry when the financial crisis hit. The crisis led him to reflect on the career he was pursuing and finding increasingly unfulfilling. He was also noticing how many families were dangerously unprepared for the 2008 recession, and he was motivated to find ways to help prevent crises from derailing as many lives as he could reasonably impact.
Doug pursued a career in financial services to deliver high-quality financial planning and investment management to help individuals and families live a life they love.
In his previous career, Doug’s research was in theoretical computational chemistry—he performed advanced simulations on intricate chemical compounds, analyzing their complex systems and finding functionality in them. He’s found this process surprisingly applicable to financial advising!
Doug brings scientific precision into his financial strategies for clients.
He studies possible outcomes and researches investment options and returns to create scalable and portable recommendations for individual cases.
However, among all the projections and analysis helping his clients achieve success, Doug never forgets why he entered the business: Relationships.
Having a trusting, caring, and personal relationship with your financial team may help as you work toward achieving success in life. Doug’s solutions are meant to support your life—financial, personal, and social—and he works hard to align each of his recommendations with your values and long-term happiness and success.

Doug was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and after some travel around the country, he is happy to call Texas his forever home. He received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Texas at San Antonio and married an A&M grad, and together he and his wife enjoy watching and attending Aggies games. Doug also enjoys a challenging puzzle—recently completing a 4,000-piece project in less than a week!
