Chris is a financial advisor in his hometown of Austin, Texas, and has been in practice since 2013.
After graduating from Texas Christian University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in economics and minor in Business, Chris started at North Star under the tutelage of Davin Bell, who is an associate partner and part of the firm’s leadership. In addition to having his Series 7, Series 66, and Life/Health Insurance licenses, Chris became a Certified Student Loan Professional (CSLP®) in 2020.
Our mission is to help our clients start and stay the path to financial independence—whatever that means to them. The goal is to develop a long-term relationship so that we can best serve our clients, their families, and their businesses and to help them grow and preserve wealth to achieve their financial goals and dreams over time.
Here is what Chris says about the process of financial planning:
“When you decide to start the path towards financial independence, it can be daunting. Most think that you ‘need to have a bunch of money’ before working with a planner—and that is simply not the case. You may have many goals you want to accomplish, a mortgage to pay, some student loans even, which makes it even more stressful and confusing. We simplify your life by organizing everything, helping you prioritize your goals, and overseeing your financial strategy on an ongoing basis. Our process will give you a sense of security to live life to the fullest today, while protecting your most precious assets and growing your wealth for the future.”
Our “money motto” is Live, Save, Give.
Live: A healthy financial strategy will allow you the opportunity to live your best life possible today, tomorrow, and when you retire.
Save: For your future, your family, and all of life’s unknowns. Whatever is most important to you, we can help you get there.
Give: To the causes and people that matter most in life to you.
This practice vision was inspired by Chris’ mother Mary, who lives these values in her daily life.
How It Works
Our process is goals-driven, based in behavioral counseling, and specifically designed to help you understand your finances, identify clear goals, and develop a roadmap to achieve them.
Basically, we determine if you are financially healthy (or not). Like going to the doctor or dentist, but without the needles and drills.
Step 1: Diagnose
Before we can prescribe, we first need to diagnose.
We want to get to know you first! What are your goals and dreams? What keeps you up at night? We’ll help you understand and prioritize what you have today so you get organized and come up with actionable items to follow-up on tomorrow.
Step 2: Prescribe
Once we understand, we help you develop a plan based on your life goals. Your plan is solely based on what is most important to you, and therefore should create a sense of security as well as excitement.
Step 3: Present Implementation Strategies
We will provide you with a comprehensive written analysis of your situation, and actionable steps that you can take to work towards your goals.
Step 4: Evaluate
Our review process answers questions such as “How are things going? What’s new? Has anything changed?” Depending on your answers, we update the plan and adjust accordingly.
