North Star Resource Group named a finalist for the 2026 Torch Awards for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota
MINNEAPOLIS—January 8, 2026—North Star Resource Group has been announced as one of 18 finalists for the 2026 Torch Awards for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Minnesota and North Dakota.
BBB’s Torch Awards for Ethics celebrate businesses that exemplify a steadfast commitment to ethical practices in their interactions with customers, employees and the community. Finalists are evaluated on pillars such as honesty, transparency, integrity and accountability.
“We are extremely honored and privileged to receive this recognition from BBB once again,” stated North Star CEO Ed Deutschlander, CLU®, CLF®. “We appreciate our advisors and team members who help support our ethics-first approach to helping others.”
The corporate culture of North Star is based on a series of six core values, which ultimately govern the direction of the firm: responsibility, faith, integrity, growth, gratitude and service. All six values are integral to maintain an ethical culture throughout the firm, guiding senior leaders, financial advisors, team members and the firm’s clients.
North Star previously received the Torch Award for Ethics in 2011, 2015 and 2019. It is one of only two companies to be a three-time winner.
Additionally, in 2023, the firm was inducted into the Torch Awards for Ethics Hall of Fame at the 2023 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics ceremony in Minneapolis. Four business category winners and four BBB scholarship winners, including the winner of the Scott Richards North Star Foundation scholarship, also received recognition at this event.
Deutschlander continued, “North Star has created a workplace of integrity and ethics by starting with our purpose: Changing Lives, Forever®. From there, we established a set of six values that keep us aligned with that purpose, and those values ensure our decision-making remains ethically sound.”
BBB presents the Torch Awards for Ethics annually to several for-profit businesses located within the Minnesota and North Dakota region. Eligible businesses are offered the opportunity to submit an entry to BBB, where a panel of independent volunteer business and community leaders selects the winners. Nominees must be in good standing with BBB; however, BBB Accreditation is not a requirement to compete.
North Star and the other finalists will be honored at the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics Luncheon on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at The Club at Golden Valley in Golden Valley, Minn.
