Grace Torres Kilpatrick

Grace_Torres_Kilpatrick

Grace is the third generation of financial advisors in her family. She has been passionate about sports and finance since childhood. Grace grew up in San Diego playing club soccer. The summer before her undergraduate, she played soccer in Spain in Donosti Cup. Grace has always stayed active in the soccer community for the love of the game. She played four years NAIA soccer for Menlo College. While living in Palo Alto, Grace was involved in Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (BAWSI) and Fellowship Christian Athletes (FCA). She enjoyed helping girls in under-resourced communities through the power of sports by volunteer coaching for BAWSI.

In 2010 Grace started her career as a financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors while she practiced and guest played in the Women’s Premier Soccer League for the San Diego SeaLions in the evenings. She quickly developed her financial advising niche market in entertainment and some of her first clients were professional athletes and models. Grace ended up working for Morgan Stanley for over a decade. In her early Morgan days, she was a manager of a major sports complex for evening adult soccer leagues in San Diego. She also spent two years in the middle of her career at Morgan working for a large team in Westwood, Los Angeles. Grace’s husband proposed to her at the soccer complex she used to work for. They now have two daughters and Grace was proud to be a licensed grassroots soccer coach for her oldest daughter’s team.

Grace currently lives in Clairemont, San Diego. She has proudly attended the World Cup in Germany and Brazil prior to starting a family. She received a master’s in executive coaching and consultation and moved to North Star in 2022. The thriving presence of next-generation advisors and the sports community in the North Star – San Diego branch aligned well with her business goals. She is thrilled to have expanded her capabilities for advising in the sports and entertainment space by working with other like-minded advisors. Grace prides herself on building custom portfolios and enjoys sector analysis. She is the go-to contact on the team for brokerage business.

For over a decade, Adam was active in the Southern California and Arizona youth, school, and professional soccer communities as the key account manager for one of the nation’s largest soccer specialty companies, providing relationship, apparel, equipment, creative, and event support for various sports organizations. Some highlights include inaugural launches for San Diego Loyal SC, partnership with SD Sockers, and recreational/club/pro coordination with Phoenix Rising FC. Adam went from a die-hard youth and college soccer player to a die-hard soccer dad and fan seemingly overnight. He grew up in Minnesota and played soccer at St. John’s University before moving out to California in 2003.

Adam lives in North County, San Diego, with his wife, a former NCAA soccer player, and their four children, two of whom carry on the family soccer tradition in youth soccer. The Jacobs family are devoted Arsenal FC, Minnesota United FC, San Diego Loyal and Sockers, and US Soccer fans for life. As long as his legs will carry him, you’ll find Adam playing soccer in recreational adult and pickup leagues throughout San Diego County.

Bringing a passion for sports and an understanding of the sports community to the forefront, Adam approaches financial planning with an eye for excellence for his clients, from family recreational to experienced professionals and the journey in between. Adam is also a third-generation financial advisor. Since Adam has approximately 15 years of experience working with soccer performance products, he brings critical intellectual capital to the table for sports and entertainment business needs during the financial planning process.

She played alongside her identical twin sister and verbally committed to the University of San Diego during her sophomore year of high school. She played division one at USD during her freshman year, but due to hip injuries, she decided to not continue playing and went into studying finance and real estate.

Mikaela graduated from USD Magna Cum Laude. She plays pick-up soccer but is primarily an active golfer now. She regularly shoots in the nineties and has grown a large passion for playing golf just like she had for soccer growing up.
