About
Larry provides creative alternatives to help those entering retirement or who are in retirement pursue financial success. He has been a financial advisor since 1999, and his practice has grown almost exclusively by referrals from loyal clients.
Larry is also a founding partner of Midwest Wealth Advisors, an independent financial services firm located in Elk River, Minn. At Midwest Wealth Advisors, Larry and his co-founders are focused on helping hardworking people prepare, implement, and manage every phase of their pre-retirement and post-retirement life.
Larry grew up in Cottage Grove, Minn. and now lives in Blaine, Minn., with his wife, Becki, and four stepchildren. He is a 1999 graduate of Ripon College in Ripon, Wisc., where he obtained a degree in biology and math. He is also a seasoned presenter, speaking at events for NAIFA, Premier Resource Group, and several other professional organizations across the nation.
Outside of his work with clients, Larry also serves with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Feed My Starving Children. He also enjoys hockey, skiing, traveling (especially to his family’s condo in Clearwater, Fla., and an annual trip to Mexico for his anniversary with his wife), pickleball, tennis, and reading.

The cornerstone of Larry’s services, he helps pre- and post-retirees live the retirement lifestyle they want. Using strategies such as tax-efficient retirement distributions and helping navigate the nuances of Social Security income, he helps clients plan for the years following their careers.

Larry helps you minimize your taxable income, especially when it comes to the assets you withdraw. That way, you can keep more money in your pocket to use for your retirement and planning goals.
Investment portfolio management
Together, you and Larry will design a tax-efficient investment portfolio that will help put your money to work for you and grow. This will provide you with crucial retirement income while having a focus on tax minimization.
Financial planning process
Intro phone call
To begin, you and Larry will participate in a 20-minute phone call to determine if your situation matches his professional expertise, and if a professional relationship makes sense for your goals.
Needs meeting
Should you choose to proceed, you and Larry will hold a one-hour in-person or virtual meeting to discuss your current financial situation and goals. He will analyze your current standing and gather the necessary information he needs to create your financial plan.
Plan proposal
Once Larry has all the pertinent information regarding your financial status, he will present and explain his financial plan draft to you. He will answer any questions you have and can make any adjustments to your plan.
Executing the plan
Once your financial plan is finalized, you will begin executing each step of the plan. He will help you monitor your progress toward each of your goals and keep you on track.
Annual follow-up
Your situation is also likely to change with time, which may warrant changes to your plan. As such, you and Larry will meet at least annually to discuss your plan, discuss any important updates that may require changes, and make any necessary adjustments.
