About
Darby doesn’t have the typical financial advisor backstory:
After graduating veterinary school, she enjoyed a 19-year relief veterinary career, eventually co-owning and then selling an 8-doctor practice. Along the way, she began to fix and flip homes, eventually founding and building a successful new construction development company for 12 years.
Darby’s vast entrepreneurial experiences and passions have fueled her advisory practice to help protect and build her clients’ wealth through a comprehensive and educational approach.
This approach is built on her core advisory beliefs:
- JOURNEY. Darby believes in building an ongoing, caring professional relationship with her clients. She sees this relationship as a journey where trust is solidly built, and her clients enjoy confidence and clarity in sorting out their complex financial lives.
- MINDSET. Often, we carry money mindsets with us from childhood into adulthood without the awareness to evaluate our patterns. Darby believes that when you begin to untangle beliefs, coupled with exploring your true values, this can help transform your financial life, bringing meaningful progress.
- SYSTEMS. Darby’s role is to help you identify what is most meaningful to you, and she constructs systems to map out your financial planning and strategies to support your goals and your success. This enables you to focus on your life, passions, family, and what means the most to you—freeing you from financial uncertainty.
- HABITS. Our financial experiences may impact the decisions we make in every aspect of our lives. Adopting financial clarity is a key element to thriving in life.
- SERVICE. Darby provides years of experience, freely sharing her knowledge and wisdom to design the financial life you desire. When you work with her, you can expect her to exhibit genuine care and concern for your needs to support your success.
Darby grew up in Colorado and received her bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from Colorado State University. She now lives in Denver and enjoys cycling, snow skiing, diving, traveling, and her beloved pets.

Fee-based financial planning
A financial plan bridges the gap between your current financial snapshot and a long-term roadmap. Using your specific goals and needs as a framework, Darby designs a personal financial strategy to help you reach your goals.
She works under a strict fiduciary and product-neutral duty, giving you confidence that each recommendation is always in your best interest.
Risk management
Protecting existing and future assets is crucial to any wealth-building strategy. As a strict independent advisor and broker, Darby and her team will analyze what you have in place and, if needed, recommend solutions from various carriers to help ensure you have protection in place for a solid wealth foundation, now and in the future.
Asset management
By working with Darby, you gain access to her expert investment team and hands-on asset management. This includes a focus on meticulously researched funds, index options, and a vast array of investment platform options.
She and her team provide tax-efficient management for non-qualified assets, ongoing portfolio management, monitoring, rebalancing, and broad-based diversification and asset allocation models. For retirees, she maps out an income stream for the rest of your life, stress tests your plan, and then manages the portfolio to support this plan. Annually, she explores portfolio tax strategies to maximize efficiency. Her goal is to build a plan you can count on so you can enjoy your hard-earned retirement years thoroughly.
Darby is an investment advisor representative of Cetera Advisor Networks, LLC.
Separate from the financial plan and an advisors’ role as financial planner, an advisor may recommend the purchase of specific investment or insurance products or accounts. These product recommendations are not part of the financial plan and clients are under no obligation to follow them.
