Financial advisor, John Tidwell joins the Rangeview High School Athletics Hall of Fame
From B-team to NFL, Tidwell credits persistence and mentorship for his success in sports and business.
AURORA, Colo. — May 12, 2023 — John Tidwell, CSLP®, advisor at North Star Resource Group, was announced as one of the 2023 inductees into the Rangeview High School Athletics Hall of Fame.
“While even now I am humbled to receive this honor, if you had told me as a freshman that I would one day get this news, it would have come as a shock,” Tidwell remarked.
Tidwell attended Rangeview High School in Aurora, Colorado from 2007 to 2011, where he played varsity football, baseball, and basketball.
When Tidwell began high school, he played on the B-team for both football and basketball. Yet, Tidwell’s mentors at the time encouraged him to keep trying, and he went on to play varsity football and was selected for his first team All-Colorado. He played defensive back at the University of Sioux Falls while earning a degree in public accountancy and business administration and becoming the school’s first ever three-time all-league first team selection.
In 2016, Tidwell was picked by the Denver Broncos NFL team.
“When I was eventually picked by the Denver Broncos, it was a dream come true,” Tidwell said. “One that was only possible through persistent effort and the help of coaches and teammates along the way.”
Since 2020, Tidwell has worked as an independent financial advisor at North Star Resource Group in Minneapolis, specializing in the financial needs of physicians and medical professionals, and in 2022, he was recognized as one of the fastest growing practices in the nationwide firm.
Tidwell, along with nine other honorees, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on September 16, 2023, at 6:30 PM in a ceremony in Aurora, Colo. The inductees will also receive recognition during Rangeview’s homecoming football game on Friday, September 15, 2023.
