Laura Vaughn Announced as Recipient of the 2017 Millennial Advisor Award
Vaughn was one of 10 rising stars selected for The American College of Financial Services’ award.
BRYN MAWR, Penn. —Laura Vaughn, CFP®, Partner at North Star Resource, has been announced as a recipient of The American College of Financial Services’ 2017 Millennial Advisor Award. Ten millennial financial advisors have been chosen for this year’s awards and will be recognized at The College’s annual President’s Dinner on November 17, 2017 in Philadelphia, PA.
This is the second year of the Millennial Advisor Award, which honors financial advisors under the age of 35 who have made a significant impact within their profession. The awards were born in 2016 from the creation of the Millennial Advisory Task Force, formed by The American College out of the need for a platform where top young advisors could collaborate and share ideas. The winners of this year’s award, selected by the Task Force, not only show outstanding performance and leadership, but also have given back to their communities and demonstrate a high level of commitment, dedication, and integrity.
Vaughn, speaking to The American College, acknowledged: “I try not to be ‘set in my ways,’” and needs to be constantly learning. “There is so much to be learned from peers who are doing well and from more experienced advisors. Being open and receptive to change is an important advantage for a younger financial advisor.”
Based in North Star’s Houston, TX office, Vaughn is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin. She became Securian Financial Services, Inc.’s first female New Advisor of the Year in 2011 and in 2012, was featured in Life Health Pro magazine on succeeding as a young female advisor at the age of 23. She has been distinguished as a Court of the Table member of the Million Dollar Round Table, is a member of Securian’s Women’s Interactive Sales Exchange (WISE), and is a recipient of Securian’s 2014 Protecting Hopes and Dreams Award, which celebrates the efforts of advisors living out a significant role in the lives of their clients. She additionally is a mentor to young advisors in the Houston office.
