Power of the Purse

power_of_the_purse_header.pngPower of the Purse is comprised of a team of North Star Resource Group female financial advisors with a passion to educate and empower women to confidently manage financial behavior. Founded in 2017 in Austin, TX, this team of advisors has over 12 years of combined experience in helping clients and their families pursue financial security. They specialize in the areas of insurance, investments, and financial planning, each tailored for the needs of the everyday woman.

Today, almost 47 percent of U.S. workers are women, with about 74.6 million in the civilian labor force.1 Additionally, women own close to 10 million businesses and 70 percent of mothers with children under the age of 18 are in the labor force.1

Women have a unique need for financial services and advice. North Star’s Power of the Purse team has recognized this need, working to equip women with the proper tools and education to become financially savvy and to make impactful financial decisions. They host a series of events in the Austin area that cover the following topics, in addition to others:

  • Common financial mistakes to be aware of (and try to avoid)
  • Prioritizing your financial needs
  • Managing debt with confidence
  • Financial considerations with home buying* and children’s education funding
  • Help protect your household from financial hardships or unexpected life events (and insurance considerations**)
