About Kristin

I arrived at my passion for finance through personal experience. I grew up in a home that wasn’t particularly adept at managing money. This led to financial challenges and some hard lessons that forced me into the workforce at age 13.

Seeing how we struggled growing up, I vowed to take control of my finances and educate myself. This personal passion is what ultimately drove me to a career as a financial advisor.

Giving back

I am a strong believer in altruism and have focused my volunteer efforts on building financial aptitude in others. I currently serve as a mentor for BestPrep to help better financial literacy in high schools through one-on-one coaching sessions with students.

Additionally, I serve as the Volunteer Chair of the Diaper Bank of Minnesota. Our goal is to distribute over 1,000,000 diapers into the Twin Cities community to families in need. For two years, I was also Chair of the Community Service Committee on the Young Professionals Board of TeamWomen. TeamWomen is a non-profit organization that “inspires women to rise together.”

Through my sub-specialty of working with attorneys, I co-founded the Law Division at North Star Resource Group in 2011. For four years, I also served as the Volunteer Financial Advisor for the American Bar Endowment. In this role, I helped young attorneys understand their finances through ongoing keynote speaking engagements at American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Conferences.

Personal

When not at work, you’ll find me pursuing my passion for food in my kitchen or at a new local restaurant. I enjoy trying out new recipes and am grateful for a willing food-taster husband Tony and co-workers. My husband, son Tyler, daughter Avery, and I love to get outdoors with activities that include biking, hunting, and camping. I’ve recently taken up competitive duathlons, but truly enjoy any and all excuses to get outside when the weather is warm.
