Phone: (319) 351-4307 Bill Montag joined North Star Resource Group in 1997 upon graduation from Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. Bill is a Partner and Financial Advisor in North Star’s Iowa City, Iowa office. His practice specializes in building long term relationships with physicians and dentists based on trust, integrity, and loyalty as they transition through school to residency, fellowship and finally into practice. Bill works extensively at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to his work with the medical students, dental students and various residency programs, Bill has hundreds of clients in practice throughout the country.
Bill is a frequent presenter for medical students, dental students, residents, fellows and practicing physicians and dentists at various teaching hospitals and practices throughout the country, focusing on the building blocks of a sound financial plan. Bill’s focus is to engage his clients in a comprehensive financial planning process, centered on building financially sound habits as early as possible in their career. Bill is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the Premier Association of Financial Professionals®, recognizing the top 5-7% of experts in his field. He serves as Past President of North Star’s Medical Division, a group of advisors who work extensively with physicians, sharing best practices and the latest trends in medicine. Bill is actively involved with the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce where he serves as an Ambassador, is a member of the Optimist Club and the University of Iowa I-Club. Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, Lori, and his daughter, Blair. He likes to travel, golf, read, and socialize with family and friends. Bill is also a passionate Iowa Hawkeye fan.
