Phone: (503) 321-7400 Johnny served 22 years in the United States Army, retiring with the Rank of First Sergeant in October 1989. After retirement he took three years to complete a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, becoming the first member of his family to acquire a college degree. In October 1992 he entered the financial services industry when he joined The Equitable Life Insurance Society of New York. After two years as an associate he moved into management as a district assistant for a year then as the manager of his own team. Over the course of the next eight years he was able to build a very successful organization that is still a successful unit operating in AXA-Equitable. In October 2003 he joined Financial Design Group in Portland as Vice President for Recruiting and Development. He headed up an aggressive drive to attract and develop recent collage graduates into the industry. The effort was successful in bringing a number of new associates into the firm. North Star Resource Group became aware of the efforts to revitalize Financial Design Group through the mutual alignment with the same broker-dealer (Securian). North Star proposed a merger of Financial Design Group into the North Star family as a way to provide greater resources for the growth initiative. This merger was accomplished during the last quarter of 2004. Johnny was named the Regional Vice President and Director of Advisor Development for the Portland Branch on January 1, 2005. North Star Northwest has experienced significant continuous growth in both production and associates since becoming a part of North Star Resource Group and there is every expectation to continue in an aggressive growth mode for the foreseeable future.
