David Saltzman is proud to have worked for his clients at North Star Consultants of Texas since 2002. Six times he has been recognized as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals® which recognizes the top 5% of financial professionals worldwide. David has also earned the prestigious Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner (CFP®) designation, allowing him to further raise the standard of advice he gives his clients.

As a member of North Star’s Medical Division, David specializes in working with residents, fellows, and physicians who are in the early years of their practice. Most importantly, David stresses to physicians the importance of starting a solid financial program in the early days of their careers, including discussions on the following topics:

  • Tax-favored investment strategies1
  • Long-range, diversified investment programs that look to provide a balance between paying taxes now and paying taxes at retirement1
  • Asset protection strategies
  • Disability insurance to protect current and future earnings
  • Life insurance to protect loved ones
  • Education funding programs, including 529 College Savings Plans and Coverdell Education Savings Accounts
  • Exit planning strategies to allow his clients to focus on retiring when they want
David is a graduate from the University of Texas and currently resides in Austin with his wife, Amy. In addition to the CFP® designation, David has also earned the industry-recognized designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College. David is FINRA Series 6, Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 Registered, Life and Health Licensed, and Variable Life and Annuity Licensed.

David also serves as the football and basketball play-by-play radio voice of Rice University in Houston.
